People often ask Scott Shaw the question, 'Just what is Zen Filmmaking?' To answer that question, Scott has just finished the documentary, Frogtown News.

Cameras rolled on Scott Shaw, Donald G. Jackson, Julie Strain, Kevin Eastman, and others, at the 1997 and 1998 American Film Markets. In this documentary, Scott Shaw present deep insight into Zen Filmmaking, from the words of people who have made Zen Films. Plus, there is never before released scenes from some of Scott Shaw's Zen Films.

Naked Avenger

Sealed with a Bullet is the remastered Hong Kong, English Language, release of the Scott Shaw Zen Film, Undercover X. This film presents additional scenes, that were never before released in the west.

Sealed with a Bullet is a psycho-thriller that was vividly filmed in Hollywood, California, Seoul, South Korea, Tokyo, and Kamakura, Japan. It tells the story of Detective Truck Baker (Scott Shaw) who inadvertently discover an Asian crime ring when he is seduced by a female member of the family and then all hell breaks loose.

This film sat on the shelf for many years and was never released. Special thanks to David Oakes for reminding us of this film and causing us to go out and get it authored for DVD distribution.

Scott Shaw's Witch's Brew has recently been released. This film takes movies like The Last Broadcast and The Blair Witch Project to the next level of Zen. Click on the title or the poster for more information.

A production team, based out of Grand Valley State University in Michigan, created a ten part parody about Scott Shaw and Zen Filmmaking. Though Scott has never met anyone from the team, he thinks it is pretty funny. You can watch it by searching Zen Filmmaking at YouTube.com.

Scott Shaw Book News:

Look for Scott Shaw's latest book, Zen Filmmaking: How To Make an Independent Film or Video Fast and Easy, to be released in June 2008.

This book will detail the process of filmmaking, known as Zen Filmmaking, that was developed by Scott Shaw and how it can be employed by every filmmaker. The book also provides detailed explanations of the creation of several of Scott Shaw's films.

Scott Shaw's book, Cambodian Refugees in Long Beach California: The Definitive Study has just been re-released in its second edition. Originally published in 1989, this groundbreaking work laid the foundation for understanding the plight of the Cambodian Refugees in the United States.

Unique Publications, the producer of Scott Shaw's Instructional Series on Hapkido, has just remastered the four volume set and released it on DVD.
