Disaster Avoided

I was pulling into the supermarket today. The parking spot I grabbed was next to this big industrial pickup truck. You know the kind with the metal storage units down the side. As I pulled in, I noticed that someone had shoved their shopping cart right into the rear bumper of the pickup truck. I got to thinking that the person leaving the store would enter his truck from the front and probably would not even see the shopping cart resting up against the rear of his truck. Meaning, he (or she) would probably plow right over it when they backed out of their spot.
Obviously, when I got out of my car, I pushed it out of the way. I mean, the shopping cart rack was only a couple of feet away. Yet, whomever left their cart there could not even make the effort to push it a few feet.
Whether the culprit left their cart there on purpose or not, I don’t know. But, what I do know is, doing something like that, whether consciously or unconsciously, causes hurt, chaos, and destruction. None of that is good.
Ever since I was very young, I always noticed how some people live their life very consciously while others simply do what they did from a space of oblivion. This does not mean that all who live their life consciously do so with a good heart. Some, actually go out of their way to do things that hurt others. But, whatever the cause, there is doing something right, with a conscious mindset, verses doing something wrong, based upon who knows what.
Think about your own life. How consciously do you do the things you do? In every situation do you encounter life from a space of mindfulness, or do you just go into it willy-nilly and let the chips fall where they may?
You can live your life consciously or unconsciously, it’s your choice. If you are living your life unconsciously you probably do not even understand what I am saying here. One way or the other, all that ultimately matters is what you do in your life and the effect that doing has on others.
What do you do? How do you do it? Why do you do it? And, are you doing what you are doing from a space of consciousness or unconsciousness? Your life, your choice.
