Be Positive
I was just closing my eyes this evening, when crash! I hear glass shattering.
Awoken, my lady and I seek out what has gone on.
As it turns out, it looks like my lady had placed one of the ancillary cat drinking bowls on the side of the kitchen counter. A place where one of our cats jumps up to periodically. And, not knowing it was there, our cat sent it crashing to the ground. Glass everywhere.
We get up and we sweep it up.
No big deal in the overall reality of life. But, it was a bit of an annoyance.
The cat ran and hid under the bed. Our other cat, also wandering/wondering what went on, stood there watching the clean up.
You know, the smashing of that glass bowl is an ideal example of life. It’s here. Then, someone does something, (accident or not), and then it’s gone.
The culprit runs and hides. Denying responsibility. But, that does not mean that they did not do it.
There’s a lot going on in the right about now here in the U.S. There are assignation attempts. And, there are assignations. But, the big issue is, no matter where you stand on the love or the hate on the like or the dislike of anyone or anything what gives you the right to be the judge and jury leading to the hurting or anyone or even the ending of their livelihood or life? Don’t you think that is pure vanity to believe you have the right to judge anyone? Yet, isn’t it done all the time?
If we look to the media, at least here in the U.S., it has become so polarized. It is no longer the news. It’s just simply someone stating what they feel and presenting it as a fact. But, an opinion is never a fact.
Just today, a prominent satirist’s and late-night TV show host had his TV show pulled from the Air Waves due to his comments on the recent assignation of a Right Wing Influencer.
The thing is, and this is something that really needs to be thought-out by each individual, is that here in the U.S., we are promised the right to Free Speech. But, the problem with that promise is that Free Speech, directed by someone who does not hold the knowledge of a God is no more than an opinion. And, if the person exercising their Free Speech spreads their negatively-based opinions to others, it has the potential to cause other people to murder. Like what happened a couple of days ago.
This is where discretion, known in Sanskrit as, Viveka, and wisdom, known in Sanskrit as, Prajñā comes into play.
People who do not possess a deep sense of understanding, spout their beliefs everywhere. Some have even gained a platform for doing so. But, if what they speak sends out a current that causes negativity to rise in the masses, then what have they done? All they have done is to hurt the reality of one person, leading to damaging the actuality of more people. Thus, creating a world where hurt, damage, and even death is instigated.
Think about your own life, what words have you spoken, what opinions have you vocalized that have hurt the life of someone/anyone? If what you have said, based upon what you have believed, has hurt anyone, what are the consequences? Shouldn’t there be some?
Really, ask yourself this question. Study the reaction(s) you have unleashed. From this, what was given birth to? A better world? Or, a world where someone is hurt or even killed?
It seems that in many cases, people do damage and do not care about the damage they have unleashed. They are not fired from their job as has been the case of a number of people who have recently expressed glee about the murder of that Right Wing Commentator on social media. They are not put on leave by their network, as they have offended a large portion of their audience like the aforementioned TV host. But, as they received no repercussions as to what they have done, that does not mean that they are free and clear.
What they have created is a world where hurt is actualized. And, from this, all of the world/all of humanity is made that much less.
And, when their turn comes to suffer their karma, what do they do? They cry out, telling the all and the everyone just how poor and hurt they are. But, they are the ones who created this world of hurt. They are the ones who instigated and unleashed this pain.
So, this is just some thoughts. A moment to look around you and to consciously view the condition of the world. See the pain. View the murder. Witness the reprisals for the words that hurt.
How have you participated? And, if you have participated, in any negative manner, what are you going to do about it? Just wait for your karma to come calling? Or, are you going to suck it up, fix what you have broken, and actually make this world a better place?
