Be Positive
Most people pass through their life without giving much thought to what level of human consciousness they are existing within. Some people think they're smart. Some people think they're dumb people. Some people think that someone else is smart. Some people think that someone else is dumb. Some may even think that a specific individual is a very good person or perhaps even a very bad person. But, the thing that few people ever contemplate is what level of consciousness a specific individual is existing within.
Since the dawn of man, there has been those who have followed the higher path of understanding. Most, have followed this path via, “Religion.” And, I put the term religion within quotation marks for a very specific reason, as it is a very specific thing.
There are many ancient religions that have flourished since the dawn of the human race. It seems people, by their very nature, want and/or need something greater than themselves to believe in. There is the Vedic religion which led to Hinduism, which led to Buddhism. There is Judaism which laid the foundations for Christianity. As time has progressed, other new religions have arisen. To name just a few: Islam, Mormonism, Scientology, and I'm sure there are hundreds of others.
Each of these religions tell their participants they must behave in a certain manner if they wish to reach the highest goal of that particular system of belief. For Hindus and Buddhists, that goal is enlightenment. For Christians, that goal is to go to heaven when they pass from this life. For Islam, it is paradise. I am told, for Mormonism, it is that they will receive their own planet if they have been a true and faithful servant of the religion. Thus, all religions are based in methods that are designed to make the individual a good person, defined by the parameters of that specific system of faith. What is missing however, is the study of the states of consciousness.
First of all, take a look at the various religions, analyzing them from a distance. On the grand scale, where do you believe the aspirants within that specific religious grouping dwell? What level of consciousness do they possess?
Now, here’s a harder question. At least gaged by your level of truth. Where do you believe you dwell on the levels of advancing consciousness? Be honest with yourself. Where are you positioned in the advancing realms of human consciousness?
Throughout the centuries, various religions and philosophic groups have defined various means in order to describe what level of consciousness an individual is existing within. Certainly, the theory of Chakras is one of the easiest to understand.
From Sanskrit, the word, “Chakra,” literally means, “Wheel.” This term refers to, “The wheel of human existence.” Or, more precisely, “The movement of human consciousness.”
As you may know, there are believed to be seven Chakras in the human body. They rise upwards from the base of the spine to the top of the skull. I’ve written extensively about the understanding of the Chakras, in places like my book, Yoga: A Spiritual Guidebook, and elsewhere. So, I won’t rehash all of that here. What I will say is that a system such as the understanding of the Charkas at least provides people with a means to gage their own level of human interaction, awareness, and consciousness.
So, here arises the question. Asked again, what level of consciousness do you exist at? And, how do you gage yourself, (and others), as a means to come to a deeper understanding of, not only your own reality, but the reality that is vibrating around you?
Most people never think about any of this. From my perspective, what occurs due to this fact, is that no one advances. There is no level of personal growth. Why? Because if you do not think about this subject—if you do not take your own personal level of advancing human consciousnesses to heart, then there is no growth.
The question then comes down to, do you actually care about your own physical, psychological, and metaphysical advancement? If you do not, like most people in their life, then do nothing. But, if you do, then you need to find a pathway to cause your consciousness to grow in a positive manner.
So, what are you going to do next?
