Ever since I was a kid, there has always been a war going on. When I was a child, the gore of the Vietnam War was on TV every night on the news. I had a close family member die there.
 
Every now and then there seems to be a lull in combat but it’s always there. I could go down the list of all the wars of tragedy since the Vietnam era but I’ll leave that for you to check out if you feel like it.
 
There’s all kinds of crazy shit going on right now.
 
But, even more than what is going on via the global scale, think of all of the tragedy that takes place person-to-person. All of the pain people inflict onto others. It’s really fucked up!
 
Speaking of which… A song came out when I was in Osaka last year, FUTW, “Fuck Up the World,” by the singer Lisa, of Black Pink (and other) fame.
 
MTV Asia is way more forgiving of language. I always think that it’s so stupid that the traditional steaming music video channels remove certain words. I mean, we all know the words. We all use ‘em.
 
Anyway, Great Song! I liked it. And, the video was/is fun.
 
When my lady and I first heard the song, that was right about the time when Trump was about to re-take power. Soon to come… I looked at her and said, “That’s what Trump is going to do. His revenge tour.”
 
The thing was, when he did retake office, he didn’t really hit that hard. I was surprised.
 
I guess it was just that sucker ploy. Bait ‘em. Pull ‘em in. And, then BAM.
 
Now, I certainly have no inside information as to his reasoning. In fact, like I say to everybody, “I love the guy. He’s a comedy shit show. I mean, who says the kind of stuff he says as a president of the good old U.S. of A.?” And, he was elected. The people made their choice. So, love him or hate, that’s the fact.
 
But, saying all this… Look around the world. I mean, the shit has really hit the fan. He and BiBi started a war. Maybe in the long run the world will be a better place as they promise. Who knows? But now, like here in Cali, where our idiot governor imposed this insane gas tax, gas is like seven dollars a gallon in a lot of places. And, it’s not just Trump’s fault, the egomaniacs that are in Congress are a fucking joke! They keep shutting down the government and the essential workers have not gotten paid a few times now. This, while they still get paid and go on vacation. How fucked up is that? I’m not even gong to go into the fact that we here in America have no universal health care. People go bankrupt from getting sick all the time. This, while we pay insane taxes. Pay the salary for those assholes in Washington to live the high life while most Americans struggle to get by.
 
You know, a lot of times it is that man at the top that sets the trends. Then, it goes down from there. Look at the Vietnam War. Look at Afghanistan and the horrible U.S. pull out under the Biden regime. A lot of fucked up shit has been and is taking place. And, maybe Trump is to blame for what is currently going on? Maybe he’s doing it on purpose? Maybe he is just doing it just because he can? Maybe he is teaching the world a lesson for not being reelected the first time? Who knows? But, what is obvious across the globe is that things are fucked.
 
So, in this and of this, what can you or I do? The reality is, though we cannot control the Out There. We never could. But what we can control is the, In Here. Ourselves.
 
We should never allow ourselves to be pulled into all the chaos. We need to exist within our own peace as best as we can. And yeah, sometimes that’s hard. It is even harder when it is out of our control or not our own fault and yet we must still deal with the stuff someone else created.  
 
All I can say, and this is something that I say all the time, is just strive to be the best version of yourself that you can. Hurt no one! Help everyone you can! Don’t be selfish! Don’t be a power-tipper! Don’t be cruel! Make the world a better place!
 
And yeah, that song, FUTW is a fun song and video. But, enjoy the music, laugh at the paradox, but never be that person who hurts anyone!
