Be Positive
I think everyone understands what a Doggy Park is. A place where people bring their dogs, where they can run around, and play, (or fight), with other dogs. Most of the time it’s a great experiment in allowing a dog to be a dog and have some fun with other animals of the same breed.
Think about this for a moment, however. Particularly think about this if you have a dog in your life… How much time do you spend truly thinking about what your dog wants to do?
For example, I have this neighbor who has an Alaskan Malamute. Beautiful animal. But, they never take it outside. They never let it run free. They keep in inside almost all of the time. Undoubtedly, they are destroying the essence of that living being. A large animal needs the time to be out in the air and run free.
This is just one example.
Think about yourself. What is it that you like to do? How much of your time do you spending doing what you want to do? For most/for many they do what they truly want to do as much as possible throughout their life. But, for an animal like a dog, they are completely under the control of their owner.
Let me sidestep here; just for a moment. I really hate all of these words like animal and owner, and I never use the world, “Pet,” unless I have to. As far as this piece goes, I’m just using them as a descriptive mechanism. Because I believe these so called, “Animals,” are living feeling beings, that have all of the rights that we humans possess. Yet, we control them.
And, this is the point to all of this, how much control do you hold over your furry friend? Do you care enough to take the time to come to understand what brings them joy and how much time do you spend truly trying to provide them with what brings them happiness?
If some other entity is in your life, be it a person or a so called animal, isn’t it your duty to provide that life with as much happiness as possible, allowing them to do the things that brings them fun and joy?
So, if you have/if you bring any other living entity into your life, stop seeing them simply as an extension of your wants and your desires. Allow them to live what they wish to live. Stop being selfish!
