Be Positive
I don’t know about you, but around here, everywhere I look, people are carrying Trader Joe’s totes. I mean, even when I go to the airport, people are using the larger versions for carry-on luggage.
The thing is, these totes were, at least initially, made to simply carrying groceries. And, they’re really good for that. They’re really well made. Many of them are embroidered with the Trader Joe’s logo, etc. Plus, they’re cheap! I’ve bought more than a few But, why have they become such a thing?
They even issued some really small ones awhile back. Way too small to do much of anything with. Then, everybody had to have one. They were going for tons of money on eBay and stuff.
My lady she told, the Trader Joe’s totes are really sought after in Japan. So, I asked, “If I bring one of them to my girlfriend in Japan will she really dig it?” Nervously, she responded, “Who’s your girlfriend in Japan?” Answer, “I haven’t met her yet, but when I do…”
I don’t know??? If you’re living in some other place or something, or you read this at some other point in the future, and you don’t know what they are, you can look them online.
I always find phenomenon like this very curious. The value people place on something that really has no value, at least not financially. I mean, again, yeah, they’re a great tote bag for groceries. But, look around, they are everywhere. They’ve become some kind of a symbol of something. What does it all mean?
