Be Positive
Who have you fought for? Truly, who have you fought for? Who in your life have you actually taking up the cause and fought to give them the chance that they may never have had if you had not come to their aid?
I guess it’s kind of funny in a not that funny sort of way… A way that you may not have even thought about if you had not thought about it. But, I was flashing through a few of my documentary films over on the late night YouTube screen. I took a few to view one of them. There, I saw this one cast member. A cast member that I fought to get into the actual production of the film the documentary was based upon. There he was. And, if I had not helped him/fought for him, he would never have been there, shining on the silver screen.
This role was a signature performance. Something that gave him the substance of what he was seeking. Was it all that he was seeking? Probably not. But, if it was not for me, what would he have achieved? Would he hold a place in the Realms of the Analects of Cult Film History forever? No.
I think to others; both in front of and behind the camera. I did what I did to give them a chance. Did they appreciate it? Did they even know about what I had done? Or, did they simply believe they deserved it? Deserved it without having ever done anything real and whole and truthful on their own?
For some, the sad fact is, they did not appreciate it. They did not appreciate what they received. What I gave them. But, here’s the fact, if I had not fought to give them that place in the history of filmmaking, though they may have desired something much-much more, (as we all do), but, without me, what would they have done? Answer: Zero, nothing.
So, here’s the thing in life… What are you receiving from anyone else? And, do you actually appreciate what they are giving you? Or, do you only seek that something more? That something more that you will never achieve?
On the other side of the coin, what doors are you opening for someone/anyone else? Do you actually have the keys to open a door for anyone? Or, are you only lost in the realms of your own self-defined, self-worth, believing that you are way more than anything that you actually are?
We all want to achieve what we dream to achieve. That’s life. But, no matter how good you may believe that you are, it is always someone else that must open the door for you to ascend to any level of anything.
So, who do you owe what to? And, have you ever thanked them. If not, don’t you believe that you should?
