So Much of What You Can Find Out About
I forever find the digital world we currently live in curiously interesting. I mean, everything about everybody is out there. Well, maybe better put, everything about everybody who wants their everything out there is out there. Think about it, whether it’s Instagram, X, YouTube, Facebook, Threads, all the way back to Myspace, all your stuff is out there.
A million people have talked about it, how Andy Warhol said everybody would have fifteen minutes of fame. And, everybody wants their fifteen minutes. They all want it! You probably want it! But, in getting it, what is the cost?
It always surprises me when somehow, someway I pop onto somebodies something that I knew nothing about. Yet, whether they wanted it out there or not, it is out there. Thus, you learn all kinds of everything about a whole lot of subjects that you don't really want to know anything about—a whole lot of people that you really don't want to know anything about. Sometimes these are totally new individuals to the mind of your life. Sometimes, these are people that you actually knew once upon a time in the long ago and the far-far away. Crazy! You now know so much about them. But, what do you really know about them?
I know there's a lot of people with nothing better to do that actually spend a lot of their time seeking knowledge about some other person. I've always wondered why people are motivated by that demon? Why do you care so much about someone else? They're not you. They have nothing to do with your life. Even if you knew them, once upon a time, you no longer know them. So, why go on this quest? Isn't it just so much better to focus on your own life in a positive manner, and do things that guide you, your karmic being, and your own destiny in a very positive direction?
You know, as someone who's had a few stalkers in my life… This was mostly back in the days when I was writing a lot about the martial arts and making a lot of movies. I had some people who would stalk me to fight me. Now, I'm an old dude. Who wants to go fisticuffs with somebody pushing seventy years old? The film people, I got it. They wanted something. They wanted a role in a film. And I could offer that. All good! I was happy to help them out whenever I could. This was the same with crew, as well. But, in all of this stalking, it did send me to wondering why? Though maybe I knew the answer to why, I couldn't help but question it.
In reality, I suppose there's a lot out there about me. Certainly, I've written this blog for a lot of years and I'm always one-hundred percent truthful and honest; even about touchy issues. Same with my novel and poetry. I'm honest in how I feel, what I think, what I do, how I encounter life, and how I hope others may grow in their own patterns of evolution. And sure, I too post to Instagram and places like that. There's even been a couple of pseudo documentaries made about me. Most of which are completely off target and wrong, however. But, what are you going do about it? People want their own ideas about other people to be more heard than the person themselves.
And, I guess that's what I'm getting to here… Everybody has a projection of what that someone else is. Sometimes these definitions pop into your life via various forms of this digital anarchy that is going on behind the scenes. You see stuff, you hear stuff, you read stuff, that you never really cared about, but it's put in front of you, nonetheless. What do you do with it?
Getting to the point of all of this… There is one main thing that you really need to keep in mind. That is, whenever some investigation of some other individual is presented to you: whether this is by accident, happenstance, or via research, you really need to understand that underlying all the words, all the opinions, and all the so-called facts, you don't know anything about that person, unless you know the person. Even if you knew that person, once upon a time, if you don't know them now, you don't know them now. So, never be confused with the fact that you actually and truthfully know anything about anybody. That's just ego. That's just supposition. That's just arrogance. That’s just stupidity. Thus, what I always say is, (only) live your own reality as best as you can live it. Let other people live their own reality. Don't stalk them. Don't research them. Don't believe you know anything about them that they don't know about themselves. Don't believe that you can tell the world something about some other individual, that holds any deep level of truth. Because you can't! At best, all you can do is put together a profile based upon your own biases. But, bias is never the truth. The only truth is in the person themselves.
Live your own reality. Stop thinking about the reality of others.
