Be Positive

In For a Penny, In For a Pound

Tell me, how much full-on effort have you put into anything in your life? How many things have you gone all-in for, doing what you must do until you reach your end-goal?

For many/most they do very little. They may try a little bit of this or of a little bit of that, but then it ends. The work has been completed without ever having been completed.

For some, their job is another subject all together. They are told what to do, so they do it, knowing that if they do not do it, they may lose their job. Great motivator. But, what does all of that worker bee mentality equal at the end of their days? They came, the saw, they conquered, but it was not for them. Sure, maybe they made some money doing it. Sure, maybe they kept their job. Sure, maybe they made their company that much bigger and better, but what did it do for the essence of their life? Think how many people spend their entire lifetime living in a perpetual sub-misery based upon the job they must do day in and day out.

There are some people that follow a path towards its end. Maybe they go to school and get a degree or a certification or a something and then they leave that school environment intending to put that certificate to good use. But, once in the real world, they decide it’s not for them. They leave that path behind. So, what did all of that study truly equal?

Many/most people have no idea what they wish to do with their life. They simply pass from birth to death with no true direction; guided by whatever desires and influences they find themselves surrounded by. How does that affect the ultimate evolution of anything, not to mention the evolution of their (your) own life?

Truly, take a moment right now and take a long hard look at yourself. First, look back to your youth, what did you plan to achieve? Did you achieve it? Then, look at your mid-life, what were you intending to do? Did you do it? Finally, look at your here and your now, what is it that you hope to realize and/or accomplish? What are you truly doing about it?

I often speak about life, what people do, why they do it, and how they do it. I commonly discuss that if everything one pursues is not based in a mindset and a position of goodness and positivity then there will eventually be a price to pay. Every now and then I throw in the concept of karma. But, karma is nothing more than the responsive echo of what each individual does. And, this is where the root of possessing a desire to accomplish anything gets very complicated.

Everything you do, whether consciously or unconsciously, creates that reverberating echo of karma. If what you do is focused, then its slap-back is large. If what you do is minor, then its repercussions are less invasive.  But, they are nonetheless there.

Most people when they desire to go after that something never look beyond their Self and contemplate the impact that pursuit will have on other people, mother nature, this planet, this whatever. They just do. And, from this, whether they reach their end goal or not, they have unleashed a wake of creating that reverberating something: be it good, bad, or otherwise.

Truly, think about a time when you were pursuing whatever it was you were going after. Did you consider the impact of that action on the all and the anything else? Did you even care? Or, did you just go after it?

If you achieved it, did it answer all of the dreams you had hoped for? Even more precisely, in looking back, whose life did you impact in either a positive or a negative manner while you were locked into your pursuit?

Most people have a dream of achieving that something. Few people achieve that dream. They simply do not possess the drive or the means to do it. But, in all of this life pursuit stuff, how many people actually consider the all and the everything of anything they are doing and what their doing is doing to others?

How about you? Why don’t you take a moment right now and chart all of this out.

You may ask, “Why should I?” Answer: Because if you don’t take all of this to a personal level and truly understand the impact of all that you are doing and have done—study all that you will do, then you will be doing nothing more than instigating a reverberating karma that never leads you towards living your dream but just adds to the chaos of this place we call, “Life.”
