Be Positive
I had two conversations over the past couple of days that were kind of interesting. And, they both tied into one another.
This one individual, who, like I, has spent most of their life walking the Spiritual Path. (Spiritual Path, for lack of a better term). They were speaking about the fact that they always try to bring spirituality into all that they do and have it spread from them out to the world. Nothing wrong with that, I believe we can all agree.
What they stated next, I found interesting. They said no matter how much they try to do all things with a sense of consciousness and to be a positive influence, all of the people they interact with don’t seem to get it. Whether this is at their job, when they are in the out and about, and so on. “People don’t want to be spiritual,” they exclaimed. “Duh,” I said.
I was speaking with this other person who has taught the physical aspects of Yoga for a few decades by this point in time. I need to spell that out, because what most people refer to as, “Yoga,” is actually, Hatha Yoga, and is a very small part of the over-spanning cornucopia that Yoga truly is. But, I won’t go into that here.
Anyway, they were saying how they always saw Hatha Yoga as a means to bring the body into alignment with the spirit and to help an individual transcend to the deeper realms of truth, reality, and god-consciousness. But, no matter how much they describe this in their classes, even during the meditation segments, nobody really wants to hear it. They just do Yoga for very physical reasons. I didn’t say, “Duh,” but I thought it.
I did, however, discuss how that is something I have experienced for the better part of my life. People do not care about True Spiritually. Do you?
Now, if you ask most Westerners about their religion, their spirituality, or their beliefs, they will claim that they are a Christian. But, do they truly practice True Christianity? True Christianity, as it is laid out in the Bible? I would say, probably not.
If you ask many of the people who arise from the Middle East, what is your belief? They would claim, Islam. But, do they truly practice True Islam? True Islam, as it is laid out in the Koran? I would say, probably not.
If you ask many of the people who arise from India, what is your belief? They would claim, Hinduism. But, do they truly practice True Hinduism? True Hinduism, as it is laid out in the various Hindu Scriptures? I would say, probably not.
This is the same with those who claim Buddhism, Judaism, or any other religion or philosophy as their system of faith.
The fact is, most people do not care about Higher Consciousness or True Spirituality. And, there is nothing that you can do to make them care about it. They only care about what they care about at any given moment of time. How about you? Truly, do you care about spirituality? Do you try to live a life based upon true spirituality, however you may define that?
Sad, but true. Very few people care about living a spirituality-based life.
