Be Positive

Enlightenment in the Moment

A lot of people who walk the Spiritual Path focus their attentions upon the very abstract realms of reality. And, I say that the Spiritual Path is a proclaimed abstract and different reality for a reason; because it is. But, the reason I believe many focus on these more abstract realms is because in doing so they can pretend to have a knowledge of something that is far beyond the grasp of the common individual.

The problem with this type of mindset is, however, that by focusing on these abstract realms of reality, there’s nothing that the average individual can grasp onto and put into common use. Furthermore, by placing the emphasis on these abstract realms, they intensify the illusion that there is something in the Out There, that is beyond grasp and/or understanding of the everyday individual. But, is there?

For those of you who know me, and for those of you who have read my writings, you understand that my focus is always on this common/known reality. Why? Because this is where we all exist. And, if you can’t find enlightenment—if you can’t find that Spiritual Something in this known reality, then what is there? Answer: There is only the promise of that abstract something that can never be factually understood. Thus, it can never be known.

Again, this is why so many of those who speak about the abstract realms of reality on the Spiritual Path do so. They do so because it can never be proven. As it can never be proven, it can never be disproven. Thus, the people who focus on those realms of that reality can claim whatever it is they want to claim and never be questioned.

So, what am I saying here? What I’m saying is that, here we all are in this reality. We each have to find a way to keep a roof over our head, eat, drink, exist, take care of our families, love when it’s available, and be the best presentation of ourselves that we can be. That’s reality! That’s life! And, no matter how far that someone either claims they have transcended all of that or claims that they hold the keys so that you can transcend that questionable something, with all that the pathway just becomes the mumbo jumbo of a promise that can never be kept.

Few people walk the Spiritual Path. Perhaps better put, few people truly walk the Spiritual Path. There’s a reason for that. It’s abstract.

For some religions, they promised that if you’re a good follower of that faith, God will bestow his graces upon you. For some, maybe that has been the case. For others, they question, “Why not me?” Again, that all goes to the promise of the promise of the what can be in the realm of the IF ONLY.

For those who follow that style of faith, it always seems to be that they are the one who is to be blamed for not being good enough to receive the graces from the great beyond if their prayers are not answered. “You didn’t have enough faith.” “You didn’t walk the proper path.” “You weren’t good enough.”  Thus, “You are the one at fault.” But, if the promise of grace is the promise of grace, then how is the individual the one to blame? Shouldn’t then The Supreme Being be blamed? Shouldn’t the teacher be blamed?

Again, this all takes us back to that abstract promise of the Spiritual Path. It is the one who is teaching that path, it is the one who claims to be the All-Knower, it is the one that claims to be the one who has achieved, who has all of the answers. And sometimes, because they gain enough followers to finance their lifestyle to that level of eloquence, they do appear to hold the key to something. But is that truly the key to the Spiritual Path? Is having a lot of whatever, the truth of the Spiritual Path? Or, is that just someone lost in materialism?

There is a promise on the Spiritual Path that your life will gain more meaning, depth, and enlightened understanding, if that is the road you walk. That can’t really be debated. Because for those who do walk the true Spiritual Path, they do find a deeper meaning and understanding to their life. But, the true Spiritual Path is not based upon the abstract realms that no one can touch. It is not based on simply achieving and acquiring all that you want, be that money, power, or enlightenment. The true Spiritual Path is not based on anything that is abstract. What it is based upon is living within our own reality, as common as that reality may be, and finding the deeper truth in what we are all doing in whatever way we are doing it. We may love it. We may hate it. But in that love or hate, if we can find the perfection and the understanding to accept who we are and what we are and what our life has allowed us, then enlightenment can be found in the moment.
